The Law Society of England and Wales, in collaboration with Euclid Law, is delighted to invite UK-qualified lawyers in Brussels, and the wider Brussels antitrust community, to an evening reception at the Fondation Universitaire.

The event will feature Judge Steven Verschuur of the General Court of the European Union, who will share reflections on recent General Court case law on merger control, including parallels and differences with the CMA’s approach. The event will be chaired by Sarah Long and will be followed by a drinks reception and networking.

Judge Verschuur practised as a lawyer in Belgium and the Netherlands for two decades before his appointment to the General Court in 2022, working across a range of areas of EU law including competition, State aid, trade, public procurement and restrictive measures.

The event also marks an opportunity for the Law Society to reconnect in person with the UK legal community in Brussels.
